The Christian religion is based on a major paradox even if its followers never seem to realize it.
The Christian religion makes a big deal of jesus dying a horrible death "for us" but let's examine that claim shall we?
We're supposed to believe that jesus is the "son of god" whatever that means (but let's save this debate for another time). So Jesus is essentially god, that is a being capable of knowing everything, not only what's happening here on earth but also what's happening in a galaxy say one billion of light years away. Something that's completely impossible to us "mortals" because even if there's a major cataclysmic event like two big black holes crashing into one another, we won't know about it before one billion years have elapsed. God on the other hand knows it right away. So a being like that can't be a man, I mean a man doesn't have the intellect, the speed, the computer power, whatever it takes, to do something like that. We are limited and so should have been the meat puppet named jesus for the god jesus. It's kinda like avatar (the movie) except that avatar explains it with bullshit science while for the Christians, it's just magic...
So what to think of this so called sacrifice that god did for us? Well, it's simple, it's meaningless, that is a being billions of years old, killed off a very short lived very limited meat puppet, admittedly in a gruesome way, (although anyone who suffers from terminal cancer suffers more) and we're supposed to think that he did a terrible sacrifice...
Basically what the Christian god did is the equivalent of pulling one hair off his head, less even and we're supposed to take that as a great sacrifice, so much so that this single fact is repeated again and again in innumerable mantras!!
How do you like that? "I love you so much that I scratched a few epidermal cells off the back of my hand for you!!!"
"Thank you! That's so generous of you!!!"
Of course if jesus was just a man, that sacrifice would be enormous but if he was just a man then the Christian religion would just be a big lie.
So you see the paradox don't you?
I mean we're supposed to admire this "sacrifice" of god as if he was just a human being all the while accepting that he was much more than that? Basically they want their sacrificial cake and eat it too!!!
You know what's the funny thing is, that religion is so used to play on these irreconcilable paradoxes all the time that the cretins who concocted these stories never realized the incongruities.
Their minds are filled with intellectual blind spots that prevent them from seeing anything wrong in this bullshit of theirs!!!
They need outsiders, people like me to point them out to them, and even then, I bet they'll still me incapable of seeing them.
