Carter is a decent man but, along with an array of other presidents, tends to prove that being a businessman doesn’t mean you’ll make a good effective president.
A good president does what is best for his country, not necessarily what is best for himself, his family, his business. Some of our greatest presidents were failed businessmen. Truman, for example.
Jimmy Carter's election wasn't about his success at farming peanuts. It was more about his character, which stood in stark contrast to the twisted and cynical character of Nixon, whose legacy tainted Ford's attenuated single term. That Carter was from the South but could appearl to the North didn't hurt him in the electoral college, either. Carter offered hope and a healing process from the dim days of Watergate, the Vietnam debacle, and unhinged midnight rambles. Carter never had to assure the nation "I am not a crook."
Trump can't even bring himself to say those words.
Nixon, like Trump, was incredibly corrupt. Unlike Trump, he had various successes to hang his hat on. Most political scholars agree Nixon didn't need to cheat to win in 1972 and the massive electoral college vote outcome spells that out. That would show you that most citizens were fine with Nixon's administration not because he was a charming person but because the status of the country was largely stable and/or improving.
I'm still waiting to see an actual list of Trump's successes. Most of the economic ones are "The economy WAS great" with excuses on why it's now among the actual worst in a century. Domestically, we're now down to unnamed thugs of the state throwing random citizens in unmarked cars. The PPP has turned into one of the most expensive unsupervised disasters in the history of our country. Oh well, at least the rich are still prospering.

As far as I'm concerned, President Trump will only lose the upcoming national election if the American people totally lose their minds and vote for the bumbling, mumbling, "huh" responses being read by nice ole Joe. That's always a possibility as shown by some of our past elections. I honest to Pete cannot believe that the socialist/dems cannot see how he is slipping in his awareness. Electing him (Biden) would be a disaster for our nation.
Has Biden 'shared' any new programs that he has that will be helpful in solving covid-19? Rightly or wrongly, that seems to be the primary concern of many of our citizens. That's a difficult subject, so let's hear his economic program. Maybe he can do better with that. Maybe not.
