Probably no big surprise there, but he was being interviewed for the Mo'Kelly radio show live and on air. Kelly was pressing Stone about whether his personal friendship with Trump was the main factor in getting his sentence commuted. Stone can then be heard talking to someone else at his location, saying that "I can't believe I'm arguing with this Negro."
When Stone came back on line, Kelly asked him about this, and Stone melted down and denied what he had just said.
Here's a link. The interesting part starts at about 12:40 in.
To be fair, historically, at some point "Negro" was considered less offensive than "Black". Some older African Americans may still self-identify with "Negro". However, Malcolm X considered it offensive and preferred "Black" or "Afro Amercian". Since the 1970's the term has fallen out of favor and is generally considered to be offensive in America.
And, to be fair, later in the interview Stone touted what he said was his history of fighting racism.
YMMV

I'm of the generation that was raised to say "Negro" to describe a person of a darker race than mine. When I first heard the word "Black" to describe what we had politely called "Negro" I hated it, because black was also used to describe dirt and ugly things, not people. Personally, I firmly believe that we all would be better off if we didn't focus so blasted much on the color of a person's skin, as if it's the most important part of a person. It isn't, plain and simple, but we have stupidly made it the number one issue of a person's being. We are idiots on this matter.

Yeah, it's so stupid to refer to a race of people by the name they choose to describe themselves.
The Very Idea!

Bingo us seasoned citizens were raised to call them negroes not the other N Word. Personally I agree with you that we should not focus so much on a person's skin color and I also think blacks should drop the African part of their identification most are not from Africa so their just Americans or black Americans if you must throw a color in.

Hey, I just had a brainstorm: If in doubt about how someone wants to be categorized, just ask:
"Sir or Madame, with what ethnic group or race do you self identify?"
Even a cracker like RWB could do it.

Maybe Roger Stone was auditioning to be Tucker's new head writer? I hear there's an opening.

When I clicked on this thread, I expected the N-word or something along those lines. Referring to the use of the word "Negro" as a "slur" seems extreme. His statement is certainly dismissive of the guy, and seems to use his race as part of the reason for the dismissal: "I can't believe I'm arguing with this Negro" as opposed to "idiot" or some such thing. And that certainly suggests a bigoted attitude much more than the use of the word "Negro" all by itself does, which is more indicative of just being out of touch with current norms.

Negroid is the official anthropological name for the race. Negro is just the shortened version of that.

Apparently Maestro doesn't get out much.
I blame the pandemic.

Your tendency to misread and misinterpret posts, and comment accordingly would be astonishing if the fact that it happened so regularly didn’t completely remove that element of surprise.

I have noticed YOUR tendency to ignore what you damn well know is the INTENT of my posts and instead seize upon the worst of possible multiple interpretations to make you scurrilous accusations. It is intellectually dishonest on your part, and I'm sick and tired of your old coot act.

This is evidence of what I am taking about. This is not a reasonable response to what I've said on this thread, or anything I've ever said to you.

And this is a great example of how deep you've sunk into a state of denial.
