Not necessarily a political story, just an icon from early days when there were two genders and we had no doubt at all which one Mary Ann belonged to. She was the quintessential girl next door, the overwhelming choice when asked "Ginger or Mary Ann?"
Dawn Wells, the girl-next-door actress and former beauty queen who played the sweet Mary Ann Summers on the iconic CBS sitcom Gilligan's Island, died Wednesday morning. She was 82.
Wells died in Los Angeles of causes related to COVID-19, her publicist announced.
She said her character on the sitcom "was molded by me, from me" and that the "values and principles" of the Kansas farm girl mirrored her own.

Yeah, I don't see why more than two genders is at all relevant to this news of the death of the woman who played MaryAnn on Gilligan's Island.
Perhaps the one who brought it up has some "issues" of his own?

Dawn Wells was a symbol of a time when normal people were in the majority and had enough intelligence and integrity to recognize the truth about human anatomy.
