My pet roadrunner is up for adoption.
Interested?
In a roadrunner who makes the "E" in Wile E.Coyote stand for "Einstein"? Never.
Anybody interested in some rotisserie road runner?

I've been thinking about Aunt Jemima and yes, Uncle Ben's (who have also come out and said they are reworking their brand). I think I have a good compromise that will make everyone happy. COUSIN EDDIE'S

And thicc means “a slang term for a full-figured body, specifically a big butt and curvy waist. It is both used sexually and humorously.” Get it? Aunt Jemima? Syrup? Thick?

The Aunt Jemima figure is a racist caricature.
Only racists fail to realize that.

Oh, I think they realize it. It was created for them in the first place.

Yup.
Should have phrased it,
The Aunt Jemima figure is a racist caricature.
Only racists fail to admit that.

I don't get how eliminating positive images of blacks and replacing them with white centric logos is fighting racism.
... and no one is surprised by the fact you just admitted.

Image such as Aunt Jemima are NOT positive images of blacks. They are Jim Crow images of an obese, subservient black woman who has subsumed her own family and race in service to the White family.
Try again, you can do better.
LOL...no one thinks of her like that. That's complete revisionist bull shit. Sigh.
Are you willfully this ignorant, or does it just come naturally?
Perhaps it's time to stop legitimizing slavery with extensions of the Mammy meme?
Ya think?

Frankly, this is all a moot point as Hungry Jack, which comes in a squat, microwavable bottle, is clearly the superior brand anyway.
It even has a little detector on the side to let you know when the syrup is warm.
Since it's all just artificially favored corn syrup anyway, you gotta go for the convenience factor.

Well, to tell the truth, the only stuff I've put on pancakes at home for the past 40 or so years has been real maple syrup.
Log Cabin, Aunt J, etc are fake.

I don't get how eliminating positive images of blacks and replacing them with white centric logos is fighting racism. IMO Aunt Jemima is a positive for the blacks. She is working, just as a white chef is. No one seems to want to destroy products showing white male chefs on their products. Why is that? Aunt Jemima bad; Chef Boyardee is not. Personally, I think Chef Boyardee looks like a geek, but I guess that's okay.

And that's why I use corn syrup - with maple flavoring or sometimes I mix in some real maple syrup. Either way it tastes the same, is a lot cheaper and can be used for a variety of uses. Oh, and no, absolutely no way the mammy stereotype is a good role model.

Nope. Not at all. Nothing here is even remotely convincing. Aunt Jemima glorified women of color. It did not mock them. It used an image because it would sell. It sold, not because of hate, but because of the positive image. It may be a caricature or stereo type, but those things are not racism.

Imagine believing a slave symbol glorified black people. smh This willful denial of the past mirrors the delusions of the Neo-Confederates who say the Civil War wasn't about slavery.

No body views her as a slave symbol. That is the point. It may have once been that, but today there isn't anyone that thinks of Aunt Jemima as anything other than a positive symbol. Maybe people that are interested in dividing the races rather than uniting them. But that is your racism that you'll have to come to grips with.

Are we back to counting black people as 3/5 a person? And what about me? I think its a racially charged symbol representing plantation era life. Do I not count?
