Trump campaign uses fake campaign ads...

Brazil might as well be the temporary U.S. Jr. It is ran by a right-winger notoriously known as “Tropical Trump,” has numerous COVID epicenters, also is enacting various anti-environment policies, and made much of the same mistakes dealing with the pandemic as Trumpmerica has. So, their statues are precious too.

Seriously, how does somebody do that?

I get that it's dishonest.

But my astonishment over the incompetence vastly overshadows my reaction to the dishonesty.

I mean... Ok, Trump himself probably had little to do with the actual ad, but how does a company make an ad like this in 2020 and think they won't get busted for using stock footage?

I get that it's cheaper than putting an ad out for Trump supporters to audition for a video...but certainly that would have been more effective than making a video you had to toss in the trash right after it aired.

And the thing is, I'm competent enough with video editing software and stock footage websites to make this ad and I'm certainly no professional. Whatever Trump2020 paid for this, it was too much.

Do whatever you have to do. I've already admitted that I haven't figured it out. If it bothers you so much, instead of helping, please, do put me on ignore. I promise I won't miss anything you have to say. My life will remain full.

There is really no justification for claiming you have "no idea" if they used actors.

The evidence from the video shows that they were stock video models/actors. The ad admitted in very tiny font that actors were being used, but it was a bit vague as to whether or not the actors referred to the video, the audio or both.

And, while the admission that they were using actors was very tiny, the name and location of the voter was huge and very much designed to give the impression that it was identifying the person on the screen.

In addition, when you use actors in the regular way, the viewer at least knows that the actor wasn't opposed to having his face associated with the words he was saying. But in this case, the stock footage actors/models we were seeing had no idea that their images were being used in association with political speech they might disagree with.

That's kind of a smarmy thing to do. Legal, but smarmy. It's also stupid because one of these models could easily make news by claiming they would never say such things as what we see in this ad.


And the final point: Some of the people they used aren't even Americans.

It strains credulity to think that you'd have had no problem with any of this had Biden's campaign done it.
