For the record, Fluoride is just a salt. If you analyzed fresh mountain spring water, it would also be loaded with salts. Pure water is actually quite dangerous to consume (though I have done so. Was bland). And I have not heard of any deleterious effects from Fluoridated water. Why do these countries, almost all known for having bad teeth, remove it? Freon “The main chemicals used to fluoridate drinking water are known as “silicofluorides” (i.e., hydrofluorosilicic acid and sodium fluorosilicate). Silicofluorides are not pharmaceutical-grade fluoride products; they are unprocessed industrial by-products of the phosphate fertilizer industry. Since these silicofluorides undergo no purification procedures, batch samples and certificates of analysis that accompany shipments of fluoridation additives reveal that they’re often contaminated with elevated levels harmful toxins, including lead, aluminum, and arsenic — moreso than any other water treatment chemical. In addition, recent research suggests that the addition of silicofluorides to water is a risk factor for elevated lead exposure due to the extreme acidity of silicofluorides. They can increase corrosion of the water infrastructure, resulting in the leaching of heavy metals from pipes and fixtures into the water that residents rely on for drinking, cooking, and bottle-feeding their infants. Moreover, the caustic nature of fluoridation chemicals requires the introduction of an additional treatment chemical to the drinking water to inhibit corrosion, called orthophosphates.” The lobbying group that supports water fluoridation is the chemical fertilizer industry. They don’t want to incur the cost of disposing of this byproduct. That is an interesting data point, but it is also just web search, not research. This article agrees with my statement, that Fluorides are just salts. If you understood the definition of a salt, you would not be impressed by those salts they listed. And I don't really care what chemical companies produce those salts. In fact, I'm glad we are not wasting the byproducts of fertilizer production, though I find it funny that you have no complaints about the fertilizers themselves, which you SHOULD be concerned about. Do your web search on them, and you will find they are FAR more concerning to your health, and to the health of the soil, then Fluoride salts. To say that the ONLY advocates of fluoridation are the chemical fertilizer companies, is ignorant, and mistaken. Dentists, for instance, unanimously support fluoridation. But, if we are to take your web search, and actually analyze it, what it says is that the PURITY of the Fluoride salts is in question, NOT the salts themselves. It does not say Fluoride is at all bad for you. And as to the ancillary chemicals that it does express concern over, lead for instance, the average water purification facility will already deal with that element, as required by law. So I'm really not seeing your argument against Fluoridation here. Freon

The navy had me fill out several forms about where I grew up and one of the questions on one form was if the local water supply is flouridated. It was. There used to be a sign by the side of the road at the city limits stating that the water supply is flouridated. I have no idea how many of the other guys were from places where the water was not treated this way.

I would be glad to listen to an actual compelling argument against Fluoridation, but I've yet to see one. I KNOW it's health benefits, both short and long-term, because we've lived with it our entire lives. But the opposition simply sees it as conspiracy theory to control them in some way. It's the same thing Iodinated table salt. You can buy it both ways now, and I always go for Iodinated one. I KNOW it's health benefit, same as Fluoride. If people had greater education on what salts are, and how our bodies use them, I think they'd be far less impressed with the naysayers. Freon

Freon There are plenty of countries with no fluoride and plenty of before and after data. With respect to dental health. The fundamental issue is govt dumping a waste product into the water supply. And one must also look at how many times the govt has changed its position about the amount of waste they dump and the acceptable age to drink fluoridated water. They’ve gotten it wrong so many times.

They’ve gotten it wrong so many times. 'Government dumping a waste product'. That entire statement is false. LOCAL jurisdictions decide if fluoridation is wanted. Vote it out, it's out. There is no federal mandate for Fluoridation. Dumping? That implies no purity standards on the final water, which is absolutely false. I've personally worked with water treatment facilities all across the nation, and their standards are extremely high. Waste product? Who cares what the source of the Fluoride is, as long as the water purity is maintained. It's like saying our Lead Acetate car batteries are made from the dumping of waste products. Technically true, but that waste, the source of 99% of all that lead, is old used car batteries. I call it recycling. You call it waste products. So I do not see your issue at all, especially because where you SHOULD be focusing your ire, at the dumping of chemicals into our water systems, such as fertilizers from farmers and waste chemicals from plastics and chemical manufacturing, I don't hear one complaint from you. Fluoride is simply the latest shiny thing being used to get you pissed off, to distract from our REAL problems. Freon

Fluoride crankery is associated with the Birchers, the American libertarian movement and the KKK. Their fears are rooted more in faith than science, which is typical of this paranoid style. And in Oregon? Portland?
"Portland is the nation’s largest city without fluoridated water, and voters have repeatedly rejected efforts to add it since 1965, most recently in a bruising 2013 ballot measure vote."
I suspect there is a broader "crankery" here than how some people are trying to spin it.

Nope. Just the KKK and the Birchers… and the Swiss and the French and the Luxembourgish and the Norwegians and *checks notes* Portland. But it’s racism behind it. We all know it.

The sad and pathetic part about the left is that they see this just as they did with the wall. They actually believed trump was the first to talk about a wall. Agghhh. He’s a racist. He hates brown people. They are not even aware of the wall being started under Clinton and continued under bush and Obama. Just like the fall for this. Ahh. Trump will take fluoride out. He’s anti science. Blah blah blah. They have never even seen the list of countries and cities here in the us that banned it long ago. You think they ask a basic question like hmmm. If this country banned it long, how come their rate of cavities and dental issues is no different than a neighbor with fluoride.

All of that is just proof that the KKK is growing more powerful than ever, and working towards prohibiting fluoride all over the world.

You seriously didn't hear that fluoride not only freshens your breath but also kills cholera and numerous other infectious diseases? thor ignores his entire thread and instead tries to distract by asking people if they like to “eat pussy”. That’s what we’re dealing with here. He desperately wants to be ridiculed. It's mental illness. Pretty soon he'll be sharing his animal porn again.
