The lady in that inteview is a perfect example of why the founders feared voters, and why they tried to establish a governmental system where voters had as little to do with electing a president and the Senate as possible. When Ben Franklin was asked, after the Constitution was ratified, what sort of government we had, he replied "A Republic, if we can keep it." It was not foreign threats he had in mind, either. It was voters. He understood that wise old saying from antiquity "None of us is as dumb as all of us." But he also knew that some were. Like this lady. And Archie. And StuGatze, Paleocon, and a host of other dim bulbs that frequent this forum.
