Pete is alluding to misdemeanor theft. he has a hang up about it. Does it really matter if it's a misdemeanor or Felony? charging a police officer who has a pistol with a knife is suicide by cop PERIOD.

Breaking and entering is a felony, dumb dumb. Most criminals interviewed in John Lott’s book stated the obvious. They commit crime because they don’t fear getting caught and or the consequences of getting caught. We all know it’s a felony. These criminals clearly don’t care.

Yeah, because a two year minimum sentence is just like a walk on the beach during sunset.

These criminals clearly don’t care. Yeah, because a two year minimum sentence is just like a walk on the beach during sunset. I don’t know what prosecution rates are in California or Los Angeles. What we do know are crime rates. The important question is why are so many willing to take the chance of committing a robbery of this sort. My guess is these same people would not break into a home they know is occupied by a swat team member. I hope we’d agree with that. I think we both know why. It comes back to my point. I suspect the best way to make would be criminal fear the consequences of getting caught. It’s either getting shot by a home owner or penalties that are so severe if they get caught they decide it’s just not worth it.
