Like a race in which one competitor is the world champion, with a youth team behind, and the other is looking at a 1993 pair of Asics and a pair of cotton running shorts. Timeframe; 10- 25 years. Are you willing to bet your life on those numbers? I'm not. And your analogy doesn't factor the HUGE amount of technology theft they've successfully achieved, like full blueprints of the F35 and F22. This is not the USSR, whose war doctrine revolved around large numbers of low tech equipment. China is a modern, sophisticated, technology producer, with HUGE production capacity. Did you know they already have two companies that can launch and land rockets similar to SpaceX? They should be in a production state in a year or two.
