Well, good news. My daughter was discharged from the hospital last week and is recovering quite rapidly from her illness. She's still getting follow on care and going to rehab but the docs are super impressed with her progress. That's all good. Medical care was excellent.
In the meantime, we finally got the bill. From June 1st through September 10th, the total worked out to $1.1 million. That includes the $72,000 helicopter ride. Our end of this works out to (drum roll please) $4,640. And that's before my secondary insurance, Tricare, kicks in.
So, bottom line. Medical care in this country is excellent in specific areas (which I happen to live), but SOMEBODY is going to pay for it. Play at your own risk.
