We would still be dependent on Russia for that, if not for him. If he had a hand in politics, I would care about what he does, but he's just out for money, not power. And the VAST majority of scientists who work for him are liberal (as most scientists are), so he knows if he goes too far into politics, they'll quit and bring all their expertise to another company.
