He also wants to cut your tax on Medicare when you are retired and use it. And he also wants to cut the tax you pay on overtime hours worked. Meaning that if you work 12 hours, you will pay tax on just 12 hours of your straight time. Not the extra half time. He wants to put more money in the good people’s wallet. Gm plants close down and gave the employees a holiday pay from the day before Christmas until the day after New Year’s. I was asked to work on a special job during that holiday period. It was to take apart a large press that they had to rent a larger than we had fork truck because the piece of that Farrell press I was going to take out for repair was too big for ours. They told me I would get double time for the hours worked, and still get my holiday pay. So I was getting three times an hour for those hours. I put in four days for them. I don’t remember the exact tax on that paycheck. But I remember saying it was about what my pay was for a 40 hour work week. |
