I saw most of it. In my view, Kamala came out ahead. Not because of her own performance (although she did seem to be more articulate than usual), but because Trump kept letting himself be baited into losing his cool. All he really had to do was be calm, cool and collected - and he pretty much failed on all counts. The moderators were horrible and clearly biased, but Trump has no one to blame for his poor performance but himself. Trump was being Trump. That is who he is. Harris baited him and he took the bait |

Trump's losing this right now. Although the eating dog thing cracked me up lol. Problem with Kamala is she just comes off as fake but Trump's more outlandish statements are doing him more harm. Agree one hundred. She still has time to fuck this up. As it stands, I see polls shifting. I think he lost but I don't think it's going to really shift anything. While she was able to get under his skin and outperformed him a key thing that neither of them really addressed were actual policies. Policy discussion got lost but we already know where Trump stands on things. Kamala didn't clearly articulate her proposed agenda which I think the small percentage of people out there who haven't made up their minds were hoping to hear. |

Agree. First question trump blew. She was all over the place. Worse. But he could have crushed the answer. But he should have simply stated - you asked a simple yes no question. And she could not answer it. The answer is no. Things are not better for people now. They were better when I was president. Make no mistake about it, Trump had a bad night. He rose to the bait repeatedly when she baited him -- something his advisers begged him not to do. In the first debate when Biden attacked him, he just kept his cool and kept going. And this debate he rose to the bait. And we heard so many of the old grievances we've long thought that Trump had learned were not winners politically and there they were. Talking about how he didn't lose the election and all that.

Was hitting bowls continuously though... I thought Harris did fairly well, good even. My expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised at how she kept on topic and even baited Trump successfully. What really popped out at me was how far our politics have sunk. Any veneer of civility or protocol has been stripped away so we can have our "celebrity death match" type of reality TV.
Policies don't matter (have they ever really?), as we return to monke.
