Border fentanyl amounts do not compare with that entering the US in shipping crates via Ports. The Republicans were handed the best border bill and failed to pass it so Trump could run on that. The Republicans and their sick cult in Congress are responsible. I’m sorry this lady lost her child; but she is angry at the wrong side.
This is a tired talking point.
The fact that most illicit drug traffic is *seized* at the border does not mean that's where most of the smuggling occurs.
And every few months we hear about another underground tunnel being discovered. And this talking point persists.

It is interesting that this subject is being discussed under the framing of "Trump's reality vs manufactured reality" and never once is the reality of the failure of the Trump admin on this issue brought up. Let's look at the facts.   Between 2016 and 2020, annual drug overdose deaths from synthetic opioids (excluding methadone) increased by 192% (from 19,500 to 56,894), according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC data also show: - The average annual growth rate of drug overdose deaths from synthetic opioids was 31% while Donald Trump was president. - Between 2019 and 2020, the last year of Trump’s presidency, the increase in drug overdose deaths from synthetic opioids was 55%. - Between 2020 and 2021, the first year of Joe Biden’s presidency, the increase in drug overdose deaths from synthetic opioids was 25%. www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2023/03/02/synthetic-opioid-overdose-deaths-soared-while-trump-was-president/The fentanyl problem exploded under the Trump admin, with increasing deaths every year of his admin. How much of that increase can be laid directly at the feet of opposition to Trump's commitment to taming our southern border? How much of the massive increases in 2020 and beyond can be laid at the feet of that untamed border allowing unchecked smuggling to occur?

Shutdown that border. And drug dealers selling killing drugs, when arrested, they get the death sentence for murder. Start deporting. And all will get better. Close investigation, because I do not doubt that some of those border jumpers may be good people with a good trade or education. They may be a good thing for the country, and want to be real Americans. The rest deport or just throw in the ocean. Drug dealers in the US will still get it. Death sentence may change their minds. |
