Why would one need to be “held accountable” for having money? LMAO.. Cute..
Damn, the way you shy away from avoiding the obvious .. It's like a superpower. ..
However ..to your credit.. I'm sure Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, .. etc.. really Really REALLY appreciate you looking out for their hundreds of Billions ..
Because Hell.. You never know if someday they won't try to get YOU to support the system YOU exploited to get YOUR Billions ..
If they didn’t pay what they pay, and you had to pay the same percent as everyone to make up what they pay, you all would be starving.

Envy is a terrible way to go through life. There are a ton of people who would kill to have an American upper middle class lifestyle. Be content and stop looking at other people’s bank accounts. LOLOLOLOOL .. . .
Yea.. That's why billionaires shouldn't be asked to contribute as much as the rest of us..
Cheesus you're gullible .. Wow.. Just Wow..
Are you that stupid? You think you pay more tax than a billionaire?

The MAGA answer has always been to increase taxes on the middle income and poor. While talking out the sides of their mouths that "other countries are paying the tariffs".
Like your conclusion, there has to be both, hold the very rich accountable -- a good start is just making them pay the taxes that already owed. Cut spending.
You are just another dumb democrat. The more you make, the more you pay. How much income tax do the top earners pay? Most of the government’s federal income tax revenue comes from the nation’s top income earners. In 2021, the top 5% of earners — people with incomes $252,840 and above — collectively paid over $1.4 trillion in income taxes, or about 66% of the national total. If you include the top 10% — everyone who made at least $169,800 — that figure rises to $1.7 trillion, or 76% of the total. The top 50% of earners contributed 97.7% of federal income tax revenue. Now you pay, or stfu.
I do pay and I'm happy to, so fuck off.
How much does Donald Trump pay? Why does he want it to be a secret?

Why would one need to be “held accountable” for having money? The tax system “field” is not level in any way, shape or form. It isn’t punishing; but correcting. Since kids continue to take their parent’s/their own/friend etc. guns and murder children, teens and adults, we are now beginning to hold the parents accountable. Something like that. A correction. Simple question. If we all paid 5% income tax, would you or that man earning a million every year pay more? A lot of you here don’t seem to know.

It is no one’s business of what a person earns. Only the government has to know to make sure they pay the right tax. Do you pay more tax than me? Do you want me to know?

America is spending more than it is producing in taxes, and both sides have strategies to deal with the problem. Neither are suggesting we spend less, so I'm not even going to discuss it here, even though, obviously, it should be done. On the Dems side, the consistent approach to acquiring more funds is to tax the rich and corporations, who they feel not only have the most money, but are the least held accountable for it. Why would one need to be “held accountable” for having money? We are purely talking about paying taxes here, and the rich, and corporations, are the most capable of finding all the loopholes and exploiting them to pay as little as possible. I don't consider it fair that they pay less than the rest of us. If anything, they should pay at least equal, and there is an argument that they should pay more. Were those loopholes removed, they WOULD pay more, but no more than the percentages expected of anyone at that level of wealth. Two options to get to that point, one being we fix the tax system, which we should absolutely do, but will take a LONG time. The other being we increase their taxes, making it harder for them to exploit those loopholes. Which part of this is unreasonable to you? Freon

But as I said, in many cases that forces us to buy domestic products which are not as good. If domestic products are made better, I'll buy them. A tax shouldn't be the incentive for me to do so. Freon
With that I would disagree. Food products, essential for existence, are good and plentiful. Even most mfg products are great. Are you looking in the wrong spots?
Not really talking about food products. We export far more than we import, so doesn't even apply to this convo. I'm talking about durable goods. Freon

On the Dems side, the consistent approach to acquiring more funds is to tax the rich and corporations, who they feel not only have the most money, but are the least held accountable for it. Donald has suggested we get more funds by taxing imports, and I'm just curious how people feel about that. For myself, it's pretty simple math. If imported goods are taxed, they will pass that cost onto the consumer, and everything that currently costs a lot, will cost us more. No thanks. And maybe some will argue that by doing so, it encourages spending on domestic products, instead of foreign, but to that I say the reason I don't buy domestic is because the quality of the product, and/or its features, are less than the foreign products. If domestic wants my business, they need to build better products. THAT is how we encourage domestic spending. Government should not be telling me what products I should buy, and what products I shouldn't. But I guess the Donald lovers think this is all ok, right? Freon There may be a foreign product a bit better than our same American products. Can you name a few? I can name more than a few, but I really do not want to get into comparisons of products here. The point is that I WILL NOT buy a domestic product that is inferior to a foreign one, because I want the best product, not the one that has a Made In USA label on it. If American products want my business, they need to be made better, or capitalism will cause those companies to fail. Protectionism hurts everyone, benefits no one. Freon

If I were running for president sure.
I'm absolutely without a doubt paying more in taxes then you. Hell you're too scared to even give us data on your investments because it ruins your economic arguments.

You make about $25-30 thousand year .. . you pay about 15% taxes on your income .. Billionaires pay less than 10% taxes on their billions..
I know you'll run away and not answer but .. Why are you OK with paying more than they do?

You are misinterpreting the numbers, and assuming that all tax owed, is paid. What I care about is the tax rate for each bracket, and how much of that tax rate is mitigated by loopholes. That information is not represented on the page you linked. Freon
