I respectfully disagree based on how you've chosen to define what an enemy is. According to you, England only had two at that time. Just two. No one else wanted to hurt it in any way. Two. Freon Mrs. Thatcher was PM of the UK, not England. Those wishing us harm were numerous. Overtly, it was the Warsaw Pact nations. Longstanding NATO defence postures dealt with that, although her government undermined it. I'd be fascinated to hear your supporting arguments for "she scared the Bejesus out of UK's enemies". Please go ahead, whilst remembering (a) l was a NATO Potato under her PM-ship, & ( I've been politically savvy since the early '80s. Note, I said "primary enemies", not "only enemies". Honesty, please. Appreciate the correction on UK vs England. They actually are the same thing to me. I'm just a dumb American, after all (plus the U in the UK goes against the whole IRA conflict). America too, is part of NATO, so does that mean we should view enemies as you do? Really? You obviously have strong opinions regarding Thatcher, and I doubt I know her full history as well as you do, but as I was merely using her as a vehicle to demonstrate a tough woman, which many on the far right over here claim will cause our enemies to ignore Harris, I see no reason to dive too deep into this with you. Freon Meh. Strong? Destructive. Not a good lodestar.
