If you want more babies, then you must use incentives. Lower housing cost, free health care would be a start. People won't do what they can't afford. It’s the design, either through a creator or even more obviously through nature. A species that does not wish to do so simply no longer exists. From a Christian perspective, we are ordered to do so. By an omnipotent Creator. From a secular woo-woo perspective, we are potentially the only sentient being the universe has created, with the potential to spread consciousness around the universe. The universe becoming self aware. What a waste of potential to be so lucky and then to throw it all away for cheap thrills and $17 lattes as a 50 year old childless cat lady. How incredibly selfish. We should because it is our purpose to do so. That purpose is being hacked by modern progressive culture that puts immediate gratification at the center of purpose. I don’t worry about the long run. People like me will ensure some sort of future. But the medium term is increasingly darker the higher proportion of people buy into the progressive hedonism/nihilism. |
