Our little slice of the intarwebs is fairly free wheeling with very limited moderation. One of the few rules we have is to not plagiarize other people's work. Most of us are good at posting the source of any article copied/pasted here. Here's our long list of requirements for posting non-original work...
1. All quotes from an article must be accompanied with a link correctly hyperlinked to the original source.
2. No more than one paragraph of an article may be quoted without non-trivial commentary by the poster.
3. Posts which violate these rules are subject to deletion/editing by mods without prior warning.
...pretty straightforward.

I would propose "4 sentences" or something instead of "one paragraph". As our society slides increasingly towards WALL-E world, and "journalists" are more activist than ever before, paragraphs in articles are at most two sentences long. Check it out. CNN. FoxNews. HuffPost. New York Post. More often than not, a "paragraph" is just one sentence. Next line. Next sentence. Next line. If you see more than two periods in a paragraph, it's because of a quote. So that makes giving the flavor of an article difficult.

Posting 3 to 4 sentences from a linked article is enough to convey the gist. Sometimes just the headline and a link are enough.

If I post and link to a source, I don't think I've ever quoted from the citation. I have no desire to spoon feed anyone anything. Any member can click the link and read it for themselves. I have occasionally used Hunter Thompson terms in my posts.....like being in "The Business" or referring to something as a "shitrain" and the "big bore" and "king hell" descriptors sare also used by me. But I use them in my own way.

So that makes giving the flavor of an article difficult. A "sentence" is way too imprecise a measure of length. Victor Hugo, a French writer, much celebrated as well as appreciated throughout the world was known for his sometimes very long sentences, several pages long, and sometimes very short, one word... one time even less... One punctuation mark...
Anyway, the point is that you can't possibly use that as something indicating the size of a statement.

Oh god please don't.... it's never more obvious when PP doesn't read his links is when he posts one like that.

Yesterday I got food poisoning. I don't know when I will use it or post a virus laden utter doom and sudden death link to it. I'm pretty calm now but if I get in a stomping mood anything can happen.

Looks like the Lone Arranger has put this thread where all can see it first. He's a petty Lone Arranger, but he's mine. Poor fellow.
