And yes I'm suggesting the difference might have less to do with "3 years of training" to become a police officer, and more what *should be* the natural human instinct to just offer a drunk person a ride home instead of hassling them, arresting them and inevitably shooting them when they wonder (legitimately) what the fuck they're being hassled about and protest. Queshank
Yup to the human course of action.
Nope to what causes that humanity to be lost.
Perhaps the three years of college education doesn't drum the humanity out of police officers in Finland the way less than half a year of paramilitary indoctrination does in America?

So you think a college education is an integral component of "humanity?" Queshank

Maybe it takes three years to teach potential officers natural human instinct?
LOL
If I'm being honest, and very simple, it boils down to cops need to act as peace officers and not paramilitary gangs. But then we're right back where we started, how do we bridge that divide? Intuitively, the amount and quality of training SHOULD be a big factor in crossing it, but I'm all ears for additional/alternative incentives.

I'm somewhat mystified as to what this actually DOES. Greg Raises for cops, more deadly military equipment for cops, less accountability for cops

oops, left out this one trump spoke about, choke hold should not be uses unless the cops feels it to be necessary Strange that there's no mention of cops being required to keep their cameras on. So often, they are turned off just before the beatings and shootings.

It creates a photo OP to attempt look like something. It does nothing, it has no force of law. It's an empty suit.

This is guaranteed.

From what I'm hearing now, that's about the jist of it.

Queshank
Well, what would it take to fix Minneapolis?
