I would have no problem seeing Willy Mays at the top of the list.
Barry Bonds gets the PED asterisk. I wonder if Ty Cobbs would be on the list if it weren't for his blatant racism.

People like Barry Bonds aren't on the list because they cheated. Ty Cobb was certainly a hateful, bigoted racist, but paradoxically, he makes my list even though cheating seems easier to forgive.

Ever see Ozzie Smith live? I used to go to MLB spring training games, where I watched him commit impossible acts of brilliant, artistic skill. One time, I saw Dave Parker hit a line drive up the middle. Smith was already shifted toward second, and though unlikely, might have gotten a glove on the ball. He had left his feet, in flight, glove extended. But amazingly, the ball hit second base and ricocheted toward left field, passing through Smith's legs, just beneath his crotch. No problem. Ozzie Smith adjusted himself instantaneously in midair, reached his glove behind his back and between his legs, snagging the liner and then throwing out Parker by a step and a half. Parker continued past first and second and then chased Smith down, grabbing, hugging and then gleefully picking Smith up in the air for a full turn before putting him down. Ozzie Smith is Top 25. Edit: Better than that. He was the Bruce Lee of baseball.

Why isn't Cy Young on anyone's list?
