You don't need to be religious to discuss religion unless this isn't a detate forum but some kind of a shrine!!! just as you don't need to be a fish to talk about fish, in fact, for the latter, it helps, if you're not. I still think that you need someone who can look at ANY religion with a dispassionate point of view and that someone is an Atheist, or at the very least an agnostic, although I don't really trust agnostics, some of them are just crypto religious. Am I getting through to you? I mean given the thoughtless stupidity of your remark I am not sure I ever will. Sorry but I have little patience for that kind of crap. |

The problem is... commonalities. If you ask yourself what atheism has in common with anything else usually defined as a religion, you find next to nothing. Atheism, doesn't have a book or books, rites, a moral code,a code of conduct, idiosyncrasies ( e.g. prayers, cross fingers, kneeling... whatever...), clothes, items, symbols, traditions... Only religions have this stuff in them... So I don't see how someone could claim that atheism is a religion and keep a straight face. |

Your consideration was considered before you knew to consider it..
I've appeared somehow to piss you off. That was certainly not my intention. And I agree with you 100% that to be atheist in no way requires religion as an explanation.
That said the "Religion" board IS moderated by a religious user and a non-religious user .. MFA and Me. But I really don't think there will be much need for moderation.
So that I'm clear .. are you concerned that your views/posts will not be allowed here.? Let me say ... keep family and credible threats of violence out of your posts and there'll not be a problem.
