Trump says ‘a lot of people like it’ when he floats the idea of being a dictator
Looks like Trump took notice from people just like our conservatives here. PP's brain is bouncing around in his head holding contradictory views about wanting and not wanting dictators.

The way people of all stripes cheer on executive orders they like, I'm pretty sure a lot of Americans would be fine with a dictator as long as it fit their ideology (especially when you combine that with Congressional approval numbers).

I dunno.
My impression is that most on the left would oppose any kind of dictatorship, whether the dictatorial policies meet or oppose their beliefs.
And my impression is that many on the right would support a dictatorship, as long as the dictator adheres to their right wing nonsense.
Trump tried to establish a dictatorship. ...

Do they not like what Biden is doing with his executive orders? Any complaints about that process? Or no?

You are distorting the reality of Biden's presidency.
Are you a Trump supporter?

Are you a Trump supporter? So, the answer is no, and this crap (which you already know the answer to, unless you're a complete idiot) is your very feeble attempt at not answering.

I don't like EO's but I wouldn't considering them dictator powers.

Ha ha ha ha. I can’t think of any leftist authoritarian regime around the world in the past 100 years. Hmmm. Biden literally had his authoritarian vaccine mandates overturned by the courts. and now his crushing of free speech is in the Supreme Court deciding if govt can censor material. The very simple rules are these. Lower federal taxes. Smaller federal govt. more states rights. Civilian second amendment rights. Politicians who support these won’t ever become dictators.

I don't like EO's but I wouldn't considering them dictator powers. The Presidency has steadily evolved to accrue more and more powers, especially since WW2. Congress is not exercising its war powers, the administrative state has grown, and correspondingly, executive power has grown. And the EOs are being used by Presidents to do what Congress either cannot, or will not, do (and depending on who's in office one side or other loves them or hate them).
It wouldn't take some great leap for a President to become a dictator or an autocrat (a la Orban or Erdogan).
And we're so hyperpartisan, it might be acceptable to people if the other side is getting screwed.

Understood, and I sure could be convinced that EO's should just not be allowed. My heart isn't set either way on it.

Agree Didn’t we see that during Covid. If you supported Biden and democrats you were all for vaccine mandates. 6 foot spacing. Shutting down schools. Allowing big business to remain open while shuddering small business. Reporting on neighbors for gatherings. I always wondered growing up how people like Hitler or Castro or Chavez or Mao got to power. They didn’t walk in and take over by force with all against them. They had they overwhelming support of common people. They were con artists who used race and class warfare to separate people and get people to take sides. And the idiots who gave them power when it was all done looked in shock and said we had no idea. Idiots. How many times must history repeat itself.

Congress passes a law, gives an agency the authority to enforce or comply with that law, and rules must be made to ensure enforcement or compliance. They're necessary.
But with Congress often deadlocked and ceding powers to the executive, the orders are going beyond that function IMO. Whether its Trump's "Muslim ban" or Biden's EO on Title IX changes, Presidents are doing things that should really be handled legislatively and in statute.

Mao made it pretty clear, political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. Much the same with Castro.

This has been true for a long time on the right. Less so on the left, but it's becoming more prevalent.
