Im the past few years I’m seeing my country act much more like countries we always mocked. Ussr, Cuba. Etc How so? The covid response, mandates, laws etc were a great example. No science. Do as I demand or else. The Jan 6 pursuit of people who were not engaged in harming others or property destruction. The differences in punishments for different groups.

The differences in punishments for different groups. Our COVID response was similar to almost every other nation. If you want to base your entire premise on the COVID response from 2019 t0 2021 when trump was president, then you are really delusional. Science is a practice of discovery. No one knows everything all at once. If you knw anything about science, then you would know that. Take a look at computers. When they were invented, did you suddently have a cell phone? Did you suddently have a flat screen TV or a colr TV or was in years before that scienticfic technolgy evolve? As for the Jan 6 riot, all people who were involved are being prosecuted. You may not like it, but that is how the US system works. Nothing like the USSR or Cuba

The teachers unions telling the cdc what to do was discovered and bs Walensky, fauci etc. all lied. That was clear in the 2023 hearings.

They had several successful restaurants over a thirty plus year period. They are all closed now. 100 percent due to authoritarian mandates that were not applied to the national chains. A life’s work gone. You idiots wonder why the Fortune 500 are doing ok and inflation is out of control. It was due to govt payback to lobbysists and crushing small businesses. You don’t even know what fascism looks like. Govt colluding with big companies.

If big businesses were given these loans and small ones were not, then you must blame Trump. Many of my favorite restaurants decided to revert to carry out doing COVID and changed back to full service after the pandemic ended. Maybe your friend should have been more creative during those hard times

Nothing like the USSR or Cuba I heard Francis Collins say that what was done wrong in the COVID response was the lack of qualification...this is the best we can do as far as we know right now. Without that provisional qualification, any backtracking would have called into question the authority of those providing the recommendations. And so, when the recommendations may have been in error, those in authority doubled down on them rather than correcting them. I think he was right about that.

How can you correct something that you are not sure of. You missed the point. It's hard to correct something if you insist you are right when you're really not sure. That's what Francis Collins was saying. If there was a provisional qualification, it's no problem.

Some here claim they did the best they could with the information they had. I’d disagree on many things - true science knew in absolutely no uncertain terms much of what was being said was a lie. Then you had arbitrary rules. That made no sense. And when challenged they would not answer or tell you to basically shut up. The reporting of those traveling across state borders. Most all confidence was lost.

No, no one knew for sure and I still don’t think they know for sure. So to say something is absolutely true or absolutely false would be a disservice.
