Here's a place where we can discuss movies we've seen that we'd like to discuss. Such things as plot, actors, direction, memorable moments, dialog, opinions, etc.
We could limit the discussion to one movie at a time, just to keep things on an even keel. I think we'll probably know when it's time to move on to the next movie.
What you all think?

I think I want to discuss the main character roles in 1982's The King of Comedy, as well as discussing whether or not this might be Scorsese's best film.

Never heard of it.
Better than The Godfather?
He was a laugh a minute.

Never heard of it. Better than The Godfather? He was a laugh a minute. Coppola directed The Godfather. But seriously, check out The King of Comedy. De Niro, Lewis and Bernhard are amazing.

Recently I became aware that my blood pressure is to high.
In an effort to lower it, I stuck a DVD of "The Sound of Music" in the Blu-ray player (it's not the Blu-ray version, tho).
It seemed to help a little, although there probably are other more effective ways to lower blood pressure. I'll be speaking to my doc about those soon enough.

We often sing:
The hills are alive And they're coming toward me

It seemed to help a little, although there probably are other more effective ways to lower blood pressure. I'll be speaking to my doc about those soon enough. I had a severe reaction to a medication 2 years ago that really fucked up my previously extremely healthy heart. Long story longer - I only have one kidney and all the various bp medications were either messing with my kidney, or just didn't work. I take a large dose of marijuana concentrate if needed (indica) right before bed. It can knock from 20 to 40 points off of my bp and keeps it down for 2 or 3 days, but the high is only good for 5 or 6 hours, so I'm no longer stoned when I wake. I occasionally have to take a hydroclorathize if my pressure goes up in the daytime and I don't want to be stoned, but mostly the pot doubles as a great sleep aid. Constant high bp ain't good in a bunch of ways. I check mine 5 or 6 times per day and attempt to keep it similar to my 110/65 that it was before the bad drug.
