Curious if this has been sorted out.
Qanon was obviously a pedophile redirection effort but to what extent were the common followers part of that abuse vs just providing unwitting cover for the abuser leadership?

Curious if this has been sorted out. Qanon was obviously a pedophile redirection effort but to what extent were the common followers part of that abuse vs just providing unwitting cover for the abuser leadership? It's designed to make the "establishment" or "State" appear evil, reinforcing loss of faith in government. If half the country believes the state is evil, while the other half distrusts it, then the autocrats and their preferred system of governance, the strong man approach, becomes more appealing. The Russian influence campaign over the past decade has worked way better than trying to hack in to the election system itself. Just undermine faith in our State institutions via constant misinformation and lies. Has the same effect without the cloak and dagger shenanigans.

I would think - personal opinion - if you lose trust in govt the last thing one would want is larger more controlling govt. It’s akin to believing a wasteful inefficient govt will become better if only it was larger and controlled more things. www.google.com/search?q=bodens+border+policies+have+fueled+human+trafficking&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari&dlnr=1&sei=ndyKZZO5CPSpptQP15yHeA

The tribalism of the last few decades, coupled with social media and the information revolution, has lead both sides to unhealthy levels of cynicism as opposed to skepticism. A large segment of Tribe A truly believes there are pedos and vampires running our federal government (to tie back in to the OP) so they've completely lost faith in our system and instead choose to blindly follow their leader. No doubt any and all parties (State and non-State) are getting a big bang for their buck wedging the political divide. The Obama administration crossed the line in trying to address this issue (threatening Twitter, Facebook, et al to remove misinformation), so here we are. A government that can't stop misinformation from undermining its role. I don't have an answer that'll fix the issue and meet Constitutional muster, but we should at least acknowledge the misinformation is shaping opinions and that will affect the vote count.

I don’t discount your variables, as social media has increased the political tension, but isn’t it also possible that the government itself has increased its corruption and disregard for the will of the people that has led to the increased skepticism and cynicism?

So, instead of acknowledging that government itself that has earned our mistrust, the excuse becomes that "misinformation" is causing the rift? That's a misdirection and gaslighting in the extreme.
That's akin to saying that government knows best and anyone that disagrees must be confused and misinformed. And who gets to decide what is or isn't "misinformation"?
The best solution is to return government to its smaller size and limited function under the Constitution. Or split the country through secession, which would be bloody mess.

The federal govt and even some state and local governments get the reputation they deserve. Here in Rhode Island we just had a major bridge closure. It was clear it was decades of missed inspections. A couple leaked photos showed it was about to come down. All supports simply rusted and rotted away. The govt inspectors simply had not done their job And last week they had a press conference car. The governor, mayor, dept of transportation head etc. And they got up there one at a time congratulations each other for all the lives they saved by closing the bridge. Oh, and they wouldn’t release the photos because they need them for a forensic analysis. And by are investigating who leaked a couple photos. The real crime Gee. Why don’t people trust them.

Paleo and the dumbshit wingnuts explain to us why they are so easily manipulated. As well as believing that Eighteenth-Century Federalism is perfect and must never be changed. And why the distrust of government? You have complete trust in a government established so that owning humans was A-OK for fun and profit.

Only a retarded moron like you would make the dishonest claim that the Founders created a "government established to preserve a system of owning humans for fun and profit". Or that I somehow "hate" the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, although each one that was ratified through extortion from Southern states at the point of a bayonet should be considered unratified and void (that would be all of them). The 14th was created by radical perverts that cared little how the amendment would be distorted and misused in the future.
Why would anyone have wanted to be part of a military that lowered its standards enough to accept trash like you, head wound? Thanks for being cannon fodder and for continuing to be a target for an ass kicking today.

Supporting Trump and spreading lies on social media is the best money Putin has ever spent .. hands down..
The American Right .. notoriously gullible, predisposed to conspiracies and enthusiastically primed by Ronald McReagan to hate government .. wasn't just easy prey .. these fuckers helped manufacture the Zyklon B themselves and sold red hats to the attendees .. ..
We're fucked. Truly fucked. If the next generation doesn't kick this flirtation with fascism to the curb this American experiment is over.. ..

Yes. We all recall what the govt and media in concert labeled a conspiracy. That turned out to be true.
