Anybody ever use "Sweetened Condensed Milk"?
I got a six pack of this stuff from Costco last year. It has a "Best By June 12 2025" date on it.
I ask because I am finding that it can be very difficult to pour. I used a standard can opener to puncture both sides of the can. After refrigeration it can be nearly impossible to pour. Extremely slow. For the next can I might just use a standard can opener (if I can find mine!) and then some sort of plastic lid. Then at least I can use a spoon to extract the sweetened milk.
I got six of these effin cans. Each is 14 oz of sweetened condensed milk. The taste is OK, it's just the slow pouring that is aggravating.
Yeah, I'm using it for coffee.

Um, how do you fit a whole key lime pie into a cup of coffee?

Like, how slowly? Like syrup? In my experience it's typically just like a a thick cream.

That doesn't seem right to me.

I had to take a can opener to the current sweetened condensed milk can. This allowed me to remove the lid completely and then use a spoon to extract the sweetened condensed milk. That has greatly shortened the time needed to prepare a cuppa.

Yep, I've used sweetened condensed milk in more than a few recipes. It goes good in mashed potatoes. And yes, it is very thick and pours slowly.

Aha!
Thanks for the confirmation. Next can (I have five left) I'll just remove the lid and spoon it out, like I did today.
Somewhere I have some plastic lid covers... just can't remember when I stashed them. Even so, a little plastic bag would probably do just as well.

Moved on today to the second can.
Removed the lid completely, after I found the little plastic can top.
It's not bad, although it may be more sugar than I care for.
And I have to use a spoon to extract a teaspoon for a cup of coffee.

Unfortunately my coffee maker died a couple weeks ago. It's a Keurig 2.0. Got it maybe four or more years ago. I understand it can be rejuvenated, but seems like a lotta work.
So now I'm off coffee. Occasional cuppa tea. C'est la vie.

Occasional cuppa tea. C'est la vie. Wow, that's not a long time for a Keurig. We bought one at work in about 2010 maybe? Still going strong... I recently spent a bit of time at a rustic cottage with no coffee maker. Dug up the old French press. It makes really delicious coffee, and it's not expensive. Probably a lot cheaper in the long run than paying for K-cups.
