Just heard on the evening news about the Georgia peach shortage.
Problem is that peaches need a certain number of hours under 45F in order to blossom over the winter. Well, most of Georgia didn't get there this winter.
However, I live in Northern California, and we had plenty of hours under 45 this winter. And, as I gather, there is no shortage of peaches here. The season starts later than in Georgia, but lasts longer too!

Quite possibly, there will be a nationwide increase in the price of peaches because of the problem in Georgia.
It's OK. I'm already harvesting red plums and avocados from my trees in the yard here. Soon to come will be green beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers. I kind of like gardening.
