Here in Northern California, it's been pretty much chilly. But now it's finally starting to warm up. Temps might hit 100F in the inland parts of the SF Bay Area this weekend. Whee!
Of course, temps are predicted to start dropping again into the high 60's next week, but at least we'll get a taste of summer for the weekend.
A potential downside to the summer temps is that the snow pack in the Sierras will start melting more, and this could spell problems for those who live and/or work near some of the rivers.

It's been smoggy...forest fire smoke the past few days. Yesterday, Toronto had the worst air quality in the world.

Today, 7-8-23, was relatively cool here. Like in the mid 60's outside. Supposed to warm up in the next 10 days, though.

Five days later, it's got a bit warmer, but not much. California coastal weather.
Today I helped some neighbors to work on their car. It had a tire that was going flat. We took the car into my driveway and then I extended a line from my compressor in the workshop over to the car (it wasn't flat enough not to drive). But clearly there was still air leaking out of the tire. One of the guys said that was because the puncture was on the edge of the tire face. IDK, never heard of that, but the tire sounded like it would go flat again overnight. I did what I could, but sounds like they are gonna need a new tire or something. They said the flat tire was purchased a month ago, so it might still be covered by a warranty. Again, IDK. I just hope they get it fixed, eventually. As I recall they had a spare, but that was flat as well.

When I find out what the resolution to this flat tire is, I'll let us know.

We've had an unusual amount of rain, on warmer days and cooler days. Usually overnight, so although things tend to be a bit yellow and dry at this time of year, it's been a really green summer, which has been nice.

I've been to Death Valley. That would be quite an unusual flooding!
