I think the greatest is either LeBron or Michael Jordan.
I think MJ was the greater winner and more mentally tough, but LeBron is more versatile and physically imposing. He is also a far better passer and rebounder than Michael was.

He is also a far better passer and rebounder than Michael was. Nah. Jordan could be whatever he wanted to be. Before he got Grant and Pippen he led the team in rebounds, after he could let Grant, Cartwright or Rodman etc. do the lifting. The offense ran through Pippen as point forward and was adopted to let Jordan create when he needed to. Lebron is really more comparable to Pippen, albeit a much better scorer but Pippen was a better defender. He was also a much better defensive player than Lebron. Lebron is taller, that's about it. |

Well, maybe it’s more accurate to say that LeBron is a more willing passer. He is fourth all time in career assists. He averages 7.3 assists per game throughout his career, while Michael averages 5.3.

Pippen as point forward averaged 5.2 assists and the Bulls still had point guards who handled the ball and racked up assists also. I still contend that Jordan could do whatever he wanted on the court and be the best at it if he chose or that was his roll. Besides, who are we to argue what the NBA says? If you want grit, it’s Bird.
