I'm still enjoying watching these kids hear different music for the first time.

It's a shame jazz isn't able to understand the implications of pollution.
Burn On Song by Randy Newman
There's a red moon rising On the Cuyahoga River Rolling into Cleveland to the lake There's a red moon rising On the Cuyahoga River Rolling into Cleveland to the lake There's an oil barge winding Down the Cuyahoga River Rolling into Cleveland to the lake There's an oil barge winding Down the Cuyahoga River Rolling into Cleveland to the lake Cleveland city of light city of magic Cleveland city of light you're calling me Cleveland, even now I can remember Cause the Cuyahoga River Goes smokin' through my dreams Burn on, big river, burn on Burn on, big river, burn on Now the Lord can make you tumble And the Lord can make you turn And the Lord can make you overflow But the Lord can't make you burn Burn on, big river, burn on Burn on, big river, burn on

Here’s a cool cover of Metallica’s “Sandman” by a sibling group called Liliac.

It's Sunday morning folks. I'm working on my bike in my garage. 80 degrees outside and a lovely sunny day. Got "Polka Varieties" tuned in from my local radio station. It's that GOOD OLD Honky music! (honest to Gawd, that's what they call it!) youtu.be/thlyAzGGt5kGreg Seriously? Polka? My all time favorite radio station, WMNF Tampa, does a Sunday polka hour that I do my best to avoid Edit - used to have polka - it looks like the old people audience died off www.wmnf.org/WMNF Tampa? WTF do you know about WMNF Tampa? Did you see my tribute to Charles Vann on another thread? Do you remember Bob "Soul Man" Schier or Steve "The Hitman" Williams?

I haven't listened regularly in several years and am terrible with names. All sound familiar but then, so do movie clues - especially from Ulysses. I 1st heard of them from a fund raising drive before they went on the air and was a regular listener in the 80s. Now I have to use the computer and phone. But I just realized that I can listen with my car computer while driving. Thanks for the wakeup call - if it had been a snake ... I'll look for the Charles Vann thread

Since I am a huge fan of radio, I also listened to WTMP, WFLA, WPLP, WSUN, WIOD . . . Did you ever listen to the great Bob Lassiter? Or David Fowler? Or the Neil Rogers simulcasts?

Ever heard of or been to Hernando Beach? For some reason (bad habit) I rarely listen to radio at home. My tesla has a great sound system and needs a WMNF station. I lived on the Withlachoochee River near Floral City. Where Gobbler Dr changes to Withlapopka there is a causeway that runs across the tip of a 3.5 acre private island in the Tsala Apopka swamp. That was me. One of the coolest places I've ever lived. Where were you? Nothing in NW Fla even comes close with programming www.wmnf.org/programming/

My wife's antique store was in Brooksville. We used to go up to Bushnell Bob's Auction in the Swamp there near you. Everything changed after the storm in March of 1993 wiped us out. It turned out that our mortgage broker had been pocketing our flood insurance premiums rather than placing us in the program. They went out of business, and we rebuilt with our own money. We sold our house in 1998 and moved back to the Finger Lakes region of NYS.

WMNF: local eclectic radio station in the Tampa Bay region.
Me, I mostly have my radios tuned to the local classical music station or one of the eclectic stations. There's a high school affiliated station that plays mostly music from the 20's and 30's. But not all my sets can turn that in. There's also a local all-jazz station.

It was on the north side of town on highway 41 but inside the city limits. Great stories from my time there working for 2 bosses with completely different ideas about what I should be doing. Great guys though, I learned to not even say, but Sam told me or the other one told me,I don't remember the brother's name, I would just drop what I was doing and start the new task. There was also nephew Maurice?, these two guys and the nephew were saved by Schindler. I drove through Brooksville a couple of years ago and their farm was gone. And I now have a "favorites" button for WMNF in my car.
