The wrestling world lost an all-time great last week Wednesday when Ring of Honor star Jay Briscoe died in a head-on car collision. He was only 38. He was driving his daughters to cheerleading practice when a car coming in the opposite direction suddenly swerved into his lane. Briscoe and the other driver were killed instantly. Jay’s two young daughters were critically injured, and one of them still doesn’t have any feeling below her knees. Jay Briscoe was one half of the Briscoe Brothers (with his younger brother, Mark). They were world tag team champions more than a dozen times. Here is a video tribute to Jay: This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Mark Briscoe wrestled for the first time since the tragedy. It also happened to be Jay’s 39th birthday. By his request, Mark faced Jay Lethal, who was one of the Briscoes’ best friends and top rivals. The emotion in this match is so hard to describe.

Thanks, Odysseus.
It's just another reminder how life can be fleeting. Just a month ago, I watched Jay and Mark Briscoe win the ROH tag titles in one of the most brutal matches I've ever seen. Both teams received a standing ovation afterward, and I was looking forward to whatever they were going to do next. And now Jay is gone. Just like that.
