Some people die going skiing. Plenty die on roadways. Some die scuba diving. Some die from alligators. People make decisions on how they want to manage risk in a risky world. Being paralyzed through fear and living a biologically sustainable but fungus-style life locked in a home has its own risks. Would you say you are in optimal health for your age? And if not, would you say that breaks your DDSS philosophy?
Not really. That's why I don't do stupid shit like go to political or motorcycle rally's during a pandemic. Just sayin'...

But you see how that works in the (hopefully very) long term, right? When you die, won't somebody else who thinks like you say "Well, he ate poorly and didn't take care of himself. He did 'stupid shit'. I take care of my only body, and I don't do stupid shit like he did." You're accepting risk in your life that you do not need to. Likely because you enjoy some habits and believe the risk is worth it. It's just a longer timeline.

I look at it this way. Herman Cain would be able to kiss his wife today if he hadn't listened to Donald Trump. Very simple.

And some day, I'll die, and I likely would have been able to do something differently that would have kept me alive longer. And you, or some future version of you, can say the same thing about me. Perhaps I drank too much in my 20s? Maybe counterfeiting Burger King coupons when I was in high school and getting 3 whoppers for $1 after school every day wasn't the smartest choice for longevity. And such can be said for all of us as we pass into the next phase of existence / consciousness (or into the abyss, if you prefer).

Well he probably knew the risk was there and figured WTF if it's my time to go so be it. Not everybody hides under their bed worrying about what if. I'm actually surprised Greg comes out from under his bed as terrified as he is of the Russians.

Bunny has modified the right wing's favorite slogan.
Instead of "Live Free or Die", it is now, "Live Free and Die".

I remember the days when I ate 2 or 3 whoppers, a couple of large fries, a shake, a coke and maybe a couple of apple pies. I also wore 32x34 jeans. Now, when I get a single burger, I don't even eat the bottom of the bun, but I don't think my youthful excesses (other than smoking) will bother my health today.
