Not really. It's not about rules. It's mostly narrative designed to communicate an offer and elicit a response. Most of the rules in fact are the terms of the suzerainty-type covenant God established with Israel. Of course it's intentionally ambiguous.. done so in order for the texts to say nearly anything you want about your (majestic plural) agenda.. ..
If it were clear its usefulness as a tool for manipulation wouldn't exist. ..
Plural of agenda is agendae. If it were so useful as a tool for manipulation then why do totalitarian governments do everything they can to suppress it? Yes, that includes Christian theocracies...

I didn't say that it was the only tool .. only that it's a very effective one given its malleability and pretense of divinity .. .. Plural of agenda is agendae. The indication of a 'majestic plural' was for the "your" preceding it.

Plural of agenda is agendae. In Latin it is, but in English it's agendas. Perhaps it doesn't suit their particular... agenda. It was a useful tool thousands of years ago, but that doesn't mean it remains so today. Town criers were useful to disseminate information a few centuries ago. You could as well ask why we no longer use them, except maybe for quaint rituals, often meant to attract tourists.

Based on some of the conversation here, there may be just as malleability when it comes to the U.S. Second Amendment. Eye of the beholder, and all that... I sit corrected.
