How many times have we heard that from the left.
Did any of you see what California just passed regarding a task force. How about this gem of a quote
state Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, said. "I hear far too many people say, 'Well, I didn't own slaves, that was so long ago.' Well, you inherit wealth — you can inherit the debt that you owe to African-Americans."

Likely because the Democrat elites understand that reparations would really worsen race relations in America, and worsening race relations in America is good for Democrat elites’ business.

I have to admit. It’s a brilliant tactic by the dems. They like any community organizer, gains power and influence when there is chaos, natural or manufactured, or class or race warfare.
In this case they have manufactured it and the sheep are following.
It’s also a tremendous embarrassment for so many in the black community, that many of the worst cities are run by black mayors and black police chiefs and. Ertainly democrats.
So rather than accept responsibility and failure, they Mgt crisis and a windmill to joust at.
And I can assure you it’s working. People like me who would otherwise not care about race, and focus on content of character, see what is going on and it does become about race.
Fortunately there are some in the black community that see what is going on and are outspoken about it

Reparations, in the form of payouts, would be hugely divisive and only make our society more fractious.
Reparations, in the form of exposing systemic racism, paired with enhanced social safety protections (my usual list; universal health insurance, enhanced SS benefits, and even a UBI) would be a better approach, IMO.
