What are some popular bands or individual performers that you either think are overrated or you just don't "get"?
For me, I really don't get the appeal of Hall & Oates. To me, their songs sound stupid.
Pink Floyd is another one. I only like one song of theirs.
I don't get the popularity of Adrle, either.

Sara Smile and She's Gone come to mind. David Gilmour was a transcendent talent. But overrated? Madonna, ABBA, Jay Z, Kanye West, Johnny Lang, KISS, Celine Dion and the whole Def Leppard, Poison, Ratt, Motley Crue genre are all overrated. Also, David Saborn, Michael Bolton and Kenny Gee. |

Sara Smile and She's Gone come to mind. I liked Hall & Oates. Didn't love them, but I liked them. Yes, easy to take him for granted after the fact. Yup. (Who's Johnny Lang?) You could argue that ABBA were really good singers, creative arrangers, and unique for their time. Maybe, but I love it...well, not so much Motley Crüe and R.A.T.T. Yes, especially Kenny Gee. The guy couldn't read a note, so in live performances would riff-solo after the accompaniment was done. Every. Time. |
