Federal officials are seeking coronavirus data from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, which each issued contentious orders to admit patients who had tested positive, as long as they were medically stable, while hospitalizations spiked early in the pandemic.

To be fair, we have improved therapeutics now and we do a better job of managing symptoms in seriously ill patients. But there is no doubt that the decisions these governors made to force nursing homes to take patients that would ultimately almost every patient in the building was utterly moronic.
