A lot of people will not like this, but I am hoping that some of the organized motorcycle clubs start having some fun. Beat, stab, and shoot these bastards and stop the rioting, burning and injuring good people. And I hope the cops just look the other way. They will be saved from their democrat mayors and governors that are holding them back.

I've been saying this for a couple months now Outlaw clubs like the Hells Angels Bandidos and outlaws are nation wide.

Well, so much for that experiment. It turns out folks actually have to respect the rules and the rule keepers if we are going to preserve law and order, or civilization itself.
Who would have thunk it?
If there is a civil war, the responsibility will partially rest on all those people who defended the law and order/tough on crime candidates and the policies they enacted, as well as those who supported the various policies which create artificial scarcity and make it that much more difficult to rise up. I am thinking about redlining, single-family zoning and occupational licensing, the war on drugs, minimum wage laws, and so much more. Doing something about crime means also doing something about poverty. And doing something about poverty means liberalizing the economy, ie freeing it up and removing monopolies and other forms of privilege.
The broken windows policy works both ways. Of course a lax approach to law and order on small crimes encourages larger. But it is also true that an unjust/authoritarian approach to law and order undermines trust and social cohesion. It leads to an Us vs Them mentality, which can threaten the relationship between the police and the communities they "serve."
In the long run, this benefits no one. The police lose out but so do the people.
Its time to revaluate what we expect from law enforcement and how we deal with criminality.

You have always been anti-police. There is chaos because politicians are too weak to stand up for the rule of law, and the “other side” isn’t going to continually put up with their streets and businesses and property and families being harmed. The war has started, and there is no going back.

If the police were nothing but servants of the public, defending person and property, I'd be their biggest fan. There is chaos because the rule of law has been perverted and distorted into something in the service of tyranny. You can read my overall project regarding the police as a warning that something must change if we want to preserve society. Its not too late. But we have to recognize the problem and do something about it. I don't see a willingness to take on that project on the part of many conservatives. And if that continues, your prediction about not being able to go back will be true.

Don’t you think these rioters who are throwing objects at police are perverting the rule of law? How about those that are setting fires and looting businesses? Do you condemn the above actions?

As long as our culture conflates having with being, we will have injustice. We used to pretend that people were property. Now we pretend that property is people. Either way, we are wrong. You cannot treat people differently than you allow them to treat you, then police them into compliance.

The government will not stop the rioters. They won't even enforce curfew. And that's the smart thing to do. Escalating will only make it worse. But you know that and are frustrated at the cut fuse cord.

I think shooting people in the back is a perversion of the rule of law 1000 times more than a little spirited protesting. And that goes ditto for the statutes which criminalize peaceful acts between consenting adults.
