Unity is good, but I also like Unreal. Godot is nice, however, because it is open source.

Over 1,000 DNC delegates voted against party platform, in sign of Dem discord"The DNC revealed over the weekend that 3,562 delegates voted to approve the platform, while a total of 1,069 voted no, and 87 abstained. The number of convention delegates who voted no is roughly the same as the number of delegates pledged to progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. The populist lawmaker and "Medicare-for-all" champion was the last remaining rival to Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the primaries before suspending his White House bid and endorsing the former vice president in April. Party officials apparently released the vote totals after pressure from Sanders delegates. “We were upset. There was pushback. There were emails and phone calls,” a Sanders convention delegate told Fox News. The delegate, who asked to remain anonymous to speak more freely, emphasized that the DNC “should have released the vote during the convention.” www.foxnews.com/politics/over-1000-democratic-delegates-voted-against-party-platform The correct interpretation is that the dems are not a monolith. Their views on diversity reflect the diversity of the party. This is a good thing, in fact, it is the MOST important aspect of the dems. It means the party is open to everyone.
Yet you think you are showing us a weakness.

"There won’t be similar drama regarding the platform at this week’s Republican National Convention. As Fox News reported in June, the delegates convening in Charlotte for Monday’s abbreviated session were not voting on a 2020 party platform or even re-adopting the 2016 platform. Since there’s no convening of a platform committee, the 2016 platform will remain in effect. In a statement Sunday, the Republican National Committee announced that instead of unveiling a new platform, the party will "continue to enthusiastically support the President's America-first agenda." The Trump campaign on Sunday released a brief list of President Trump’s second-term priorities. The release – titled “Fighting For You” – among other things focused on tackling COVID-19, defending the police, education, illegal immigration and workers rights, health care, relations with China, and an America First foreign policy." Well, at least the Dems have a party platform to vote or NOT vote for. Greg

We will see just how "diverse" when the old Blue Dog Democrats and the Bernie supporters decide that maybe they can't vote for Sleepy Joe anymore than they can vote for Trump. It's a clear weakness considering Joe received no bump to speak of and Bernie forced them to release this information. Why the subterfuge? As to diverse I'm glad you mentioned it vis a vis the Democrats since you no doubt then agree that the GOP is equally diverse and open since it includes the Never-Trumpers and the Tea Party faction using your own defiition of "diverse". Diverse is not interchangeable with division in this case...but nice try. Actually, I see little diversity in your party. You have almost no minority or women representatives.
But I do see two distinct groups within the repubs right now:
1. Trumpers. Mostly white uneducated males 2. Conservatives. The rest, which actually DOES have diversity in it.

I see three in the Democrat one 1. Moderates 2. Progressives (non-violent 3. The far left (violent faction) And again we're talking about division, not diversity. At least I am but when did that ever stop you from changing the subject? As long as #3 is the smallest group, I agree with your assessment. Then why are you so worried?

More goal post moving? Who said I was? You side should be concerned. Sorry to disappoint, but dems are a more accurate reflection of the American populace, and of humanity in general (women representatives), than the repubs. How could I possibly see that as a negative. Or rather, how can YOU possibly see that as a negative?
Are you saying white men are the only ones who should be governing? Freon

More dog whistles? The title is Unity? You're the one playing your usual game of "so you are saying". I said nothing about your tangential comment regarding white men governing. For a guy who self proclaims how smart he is in every other post; you can't seem to grasp the diffence between discussing divison over a party platform and the diversity of those who make up said party. Blur much? Or is it to elude? Maybe it's just your old fashioned diversionary tactic. I ask questions, Abe. I do not make accusations unless your answers deem then worthy.
I think what you don't like is that I make you look at yourself, and you don't like what you see. That's on you. In this case, I am calling your 'republicans are equally diverse' comment, fictional.

Freon is getting angry now. The thread was about questioning if there was a unity issue. I didn't say they were equally diverse. So your accusation of what I said is...fictional. What I did was reply to this: WITH THIS The most imporatnt point is the last sentence. You are free to show me where "I" said they were. I used your words in the vein of your "so you are saying" tactic. Freon has been "hoisted with his own petard" Sure, Abe.

You implied that repubs are 'equally diverse'. Not true.
I own my words. Would be great if you did too.

Nice try. You highlighted the wrong part...an accident no doubt. Diverse as it applies to different factions of the party as far as ideology. I stand by my interpretation of your words. Those two groups do not constitute diversity. Division, yes, but not diversity.

Exactly. You can be taught! You are the one equating them from the start. I said that in Reply # 6 "Diverse is not interchangeable with division in this case...but nice try." Ok, Abe, you can have the last word.
