SourceGhasseminejad is the one who recently suggested a naval blockade (see p. 4 of this thread). FDD is a malign influence on our foreign policy and has been for some time.

SourceBtw, no mention of Iraq - as it relates to our ongoing "mission" there - in last night's debate. ( Source)

No one who was there (and actually went outside the wire) should be surprised by this. That bridge was often called '3rd ID (Infantry Division) Bridge by CF when I was over there.

The heck is this BS? SourceSo, there's no actual missile shipments, but it's silly season so we have to look tough and stoke fears about a new Cuban Missile Crisis. Need to get these Cold Warriors out of office.

SourceThis conflict has definitely blown up in Saudi Arabia's face (and the UAE). Good thing we supported and encouraged it.

Why shouldn't the Houthis form regional ties? Especially with others with similar interests? The thing is that Iran did not have close ties to the Houthis before Saudi Arabia (and the UAE) became involved in Yemen's civil war. Since that time, they've stepped up efforts to supply them with weapons and now they're increasing their ties and influence. MBS shot himself in the foot here (with our generous help).

I resent our alliance with the butcher MBS.

Joe Biden will ensure that democracy flourishes in Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya, no matter how many soldiers we have to send. Biden will remain in the ME; however, that doesn't necessarily mean more troops. E.g., he pushed back against Obama's troop surge in Afghanistan ( Source), and he opposed intervention in Libya ( Source). His stances on Afghanistan and Libya put him contrast to Trump, who initiated another surge in Afghanistan and supported overthrowing Gaddafi. However, he does want to keep special ops in the region ( Source). That isn't something Trump has opposed, and Trump has sent additional troops to the ME. Biden's foreign policy advisors leave much to be desired; however, Trump's aren't great either.

Then it seems we have somewhat different expectations, and we'll see how it turns out. Your expectations seem to be based rhetoric rather than action. And we've already seen how that turns out.
