I suppose this depends on:
1) How many javelins does it take to erase a Ruskie tank?
2) How many Ruskie tanks are there?
3) The figures quoted are probably peacetime javelin production figures. What kind of production rate would result from an all-out wartime effort?

According to the article, 2800 tanks and 13000 armored vehicles in units and another 10000 tanks and 8500 armored vehicles in storage. Whatever that rate would be the author says it would take at least 24 months to ramp it up. Also, the DOD is looking at newer systems, so "there may be an extended period of risk when the inventory is low, but a replacement is not in the pipeline."

I think it likely that if we were at war, then the Javelin production schedule could be shortened significantly. Look at how they cranked out Liberty Ships during WWII, for example. Where there's a will, there's a way.
BTW, does the name Javelin have any relation to the Mexican feral peccary, Javelina?

I wouldn't hang my hat on that "10,000 tanks in storage" figure. It is my understanding that many of those are derelicts awaiting repair and the parts aren't coming because the corrupt army bosses spent the money on super yachts.

Not all of those vehicles requite a Javelin to defeat.

What kind of production rate would result from an all-out wartime effort? The nation that could throw out a B-24 in two hours and a Liberty Ship in a few weeks can, presumably, knock out anti tank missiles like sausages from a sausage machine. Extra mustard, please, for T-80s. We will push NLAWs and 105mm light guns....

The Russian tanks in storage are far from service. They don't have crews. Forget them.

Bang. Gone. That's with wheeled transport. On Chinook or Merlin there's a 40 minute redeploy. I think the US Army uses them, too... hang on.. ...yeah; en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M119_howitzer

You need steel-on-steel (or just about) to KO a MBT.
