This movie is definitely an important movie, and it does have sound, just not voices. If only "talkies" are allowed, then forgive me. I barely remember reading the rules, let alone the rules themselves. Humor me. BTW, nobody has gotten it yet. 10) Dueling paddle boats.

The rule against silent films (that is, not full talkies) was stated at least twice already. That's a big reason why nobody has "gotten it".

My bad. The movie was Steamboat Bill Jr., from 1928.

Believe it or not I was going to include "Steamboat Willie" 1928 in my earlier scattershot answers of 1920s talkies. Willie was Disney's first.

OK folks. Lest we arrive at an impasse, I propose the following:
1) Clearly Ooombabbo was unaware of the rule restriction he so unknowingly transgressed.
2) There is no set process beyond designating the puzzle winner, other than the puzzle winner handing off the high honor to a recipient of his or her choice, for choosing the next puzzler
3) I propose that Ooombabbo be given the opportunity to re-read the rules and come up with another movie puzzle.
4) If there are no objections, let us proceed upon this perilous yet curiously judicious course.

No objection here.

I do not plan to frequent this movie house any more, and have asked the proprietor for a full refund. If I do change my mind and post future movie puzzles, I will likely post only significantly famous or important movies of any type or era, with appropriate hints (at my discretion) about the "special" nature of any "special" film. Hints like "from a golden era" (silents) or mentioning the star's name in a clue ("both fathers are wedding plan busters"). Plus "a different way of falling through a window"? But, I digress. Apologies for violating the rules. I really only come here for fun.
Going forward, please expect my contributions to be more "in the spirit" of the rules than by the actual rules. That way, when I run amok, nobody will get hurt. Ready?
1) It's not a silent movie.

OK, I see that the rules don't specifically state it must be a "talkie". It says they must be "real movies with sound, with actual people actors". Somehow I thought that a meant only talkies. Anyway, that's what I meant. Perhaps from here on out that can be understood. Otherwise these movies would be a bit too obscure, IMHO.
According to a Wikipedia article, movies made in 1929 and earlier are considered part of the "transition to sound". Thus I'd like to stipulate that future puzzles be limited to non-animated talkies with sound released in 1930 or later.
