the legacy mainstream media is despicable...
the massive massive riots in our second largest city are going largely unreported...the people I know who live in the city describe it as a war zone...one 3 tour veteran I know said its worse outside than it was in iraq...

Where’s the part of the article where people’s heads are supposed to explode?

I don't see the big deal here. You have to read all the way to the bottom of the article to finally get some real information, but when you do, you see that the total viewership in that time slot was.....wait for it.....four million viewers.
That's it?
Of the 350 million in the country, only 1.14% are watching Fox news?
So the REAL takeaway from this article is that most people don't watch traditional news anymore. In fact, likely those that do are either too poor, too untrained, or too old to get their news the way the rest of us do; from the Internet. My head feels fully intact, and what's more, this incorrect interpretation of an article confirms the gullibility of those who support Trump.

These folks aren't interested in 'information' .. They scour the various news outlets looking for 'confirmation' .. Seems they have to go further and further Reich Right to assuage their need for revenge and pettiness..

Your sarcasm would be more effective if it made any sense at all.

As I read the article looking for that number, I admit to having some anxiety. If the number was like 20 million, then that would constitute a serious concern. But less than 2%? I read that with joy. And thank you to the OP for posting this article, it made my day.

Where do the people that put the news on the internet get their information from? There is a creature that lives in the moon. It is made of space cheese, and each day, it sends a piece of itself hurtling towards our blue marble, disintegrating in our atmosphere, except for a small piece in the shape of Elvis. Each day, this Elvis piece lands on an acoustic coupler positioned in the middle of Death Valley, where it promptly melts, dispersing its delicious ooze over a transducer that converts the oozalicious delight into audible pulses that transmit all the day's news to the Interweb.
Now is that any less believable than Jesus? Freon

I'm still having a problem with "most popular" of the few cable news channels equating to being the "best" news channel.
Yet they continue to boast about popularity, but neither fox or fox watcher understands why surveys show fox watchers to be the least informed - even when the people who consider the Daily Show on the Comedy channel as their primary news source is included.
Seriously, Sponge Bob is way more popular than fox.

I seem to remember a University of Maryland study which showed that the sustained watching of only two things on TV could actually lower the viewer's IQ: Faux News and Sponge Bob.

Faux News viewers often top the list of Least Informed ..
As I said.. They're interested in confirmation not information.

Just a reminder that fox watchers are our least informed citizen voters. www.businessinsider.com/study-watching-fox-news-makes-you-less-informed-than-watching-no-news-at-all-2012-5"With all else being equal, people who watched no news were expected to answer 1.28 correctly; those watching only Sunday morning shows figured at 1.52; those watching only "The Daily Show" figured at 1.60; and those just listening to NPR were expected to correctly answer 1.97 international questions. Those watching only MSNBC were expected to correctly answer only 1.23 out of 4, while viewers of only Fox News figured at 1.08."
