A Texas Republican lawmaker has drawn up a list of 850 books on subjects ranging from racism to sexuality that could “make students feel discomfort,” and is demanding that school districts across the state report whether any are in their classrooms or libraries.
State Rep. Matt Krause, R-Fort Worth, also wants to know how many copies of each book the districts have and how much money they spent on them, according to a letter he sent Monday to Lily Laux, deputy commissioner of school programs at the Texas Education Agency, and several school district superintendents.
Krause, who chairs the state’s House Committee on General Investigating, also directed the districts to identify “any other books” that could cause students “guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress because of their race or sex or convey that a student, by virtue of their race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.”

There are some books on the list which could cause concern, such as this one (NSFW). On the other hand, the vast majority of books on his list wouldn't be concerning in that way. However, this also isn't something the state legislature needs to weigh in on either. If you have books which contain content which is clearly bordering on pornographic, then parents need to take that issue to the school administrators, and the school board if necessary. Someone pointed out that Mein Kampf isn't on his list, which shows the purely political nature of it.

I think it is all bad. Trigger warnings, video games, comedians, speakers, pornography, Facebook, etc. Stop trying to shut all these people up and counter their speech with your own.

Before public schools became grounds for indoctrination we simply had math, sciences, history, English, as the core studies and also practical arts, music, gym and shop and home Ec
It’s fairly obvious as the bloated public school system has failed in doing the basics they have delved into soft subjects and indoctrination to take attention away from performance on what they are supposed to be doing.

The problem is that the conversation has gone completely lopsided. Blacks can say whatever they want, no matter how retarded and monkey-brained it is, but if white people say something about blacks and how fucked up they are, the blacks go full ape mode. That kind of jungle behavior from the blacks leaves only one side of the argument able to talk, and the other not. That's obviously not OK. Either both sides get to talk, or neither side does. If blacks don't like it like that, they can eat a banana or something. But if blacks want to be able to talk themselves and say all kinds of retarded monkey garbage, then they have to stop booging out when someone points out what garbage their culture is. That's actually what I would like to see. The blacks want to go hard against whites. That's fine. Whites should go hard against blacks, too, and we can see who's the hardest.

Sadly I think that’s reaction is hoping the radical left democrats are hoping for.
They kick the dog repeatedly and when it bites they say see, that’s a bad dog.
The left uses race and class warfare to pit groups against each other artificially. Don’t fall for it.

I see norm setting in private spheres as "part of the conversation and dialog" that happens in a free society. Free speech, yes, but free association, too. And there is also a contextual question. Whether people think nudges are necessary will vary with the times, and the underlying culture (and how well its norms self-govern). In our context, our technology has amplified all of our voices while we continue to limp along with subpar critical reasoning skills, and a growing distrust of mainstream consensus. If one believes there is something worth countering in alternative facts, then some kind of filtering is going to become en vogue on the part of those who think there is just one uni-verse, with one set of facts, and that it is important for us to know them and separate truth from falsity, to the best we can.

No doubt the mainstream media tends to take outliers and make them seem mainstream to drum up dissent and arguments.
But they’ve always done that. But social media amplified the message.

The conflict is not created. It's unavoidable because of the innate gap in cognitive ability. The suppression of the conflict is what is artificial. It keeps the conflict at an interminable low boil. What would be better is to let it boil over naturally so that blacks end up removed from our society.

This assumes we're dealing with individuals willing and interested in acting in good faith .. . We're not.
Countering with speech of your own is a naive, ineffectual means of dealing with liars and cheats .. If that worked there'd have been no despots .. no Hitler.. no Mussolini ..

I’d argue it’s cultural in the us. The blacks in a place like Bermuda are excellent and put many whites in the us to shame. In terms of family, work ethics, value on education, dress etc. the blacks on the island despise what they see blacks in the us doing who are involved in poor activities.
For whatever the reason In the states there’s is very much a gang culture, no family values culture etc.
Blacks often will trash Ben Carson and celebrate a black star with 10 kids by 5 women who he bears up.
I recall Oprah having Whitney Houston and her husband at at the time on after he beat her up pretty good. And they were doing or for the couple. And Oprah gushed over bobby brown and did nothing but compliment the dirtbag. It made me sick. But that’s a cultural issue.
In some parts of this country we have despicable white cultural issues. I had a couple - white married tenants who are drunk / drug addicts and fought all the time. To them that was normal. And their families who I met are just like them.

This fro boog is a professor at Rutgers University. She has some critical things to say about white people. I think that's great. What I would like to see more of is white people pointing out how the black race is nonfunctional, unsustainable, and can only exist if perpetually subsidized by white people. Whites should stop subsidizing blacks, and when blacks respond with increases in crime, whites should use it as an excuse to put blacks in cages and stop them from breeding. That's the only viable long-term solution. Everything else is stop-gap and unsustainable.
The video appears to have been posted in the last day or two, so it's new.

I had a couple - white married tenants who are drunk / drug addicts and fought all the time. To them that was normal. And their families who I met are just like them. Bermuda has a very limited economy based on tourism. Perhaps when you have lots of outside money pouring into a country like that, and blacks don't have to do anything except be servants, there can be a functioning society. But with a whole economy like ours, where there are only so many entertainment and servant jobs, blacks cannot be sustained. As for "good" blacks and "bad" whites, the word is: percentages. A society can sustain itself with a certain percentage of bad apples. But once that percentage gets too big, the society will collapse. The percentage of bad apples in the white race is small enough that the race can sustain itself, and we can even sustain the large percentage of bad apples among blacks because blacks are a small percentage of the society. But among blacks, by themselves, there are so many bad apples that they are unsustainable as a human society. They have to be constantly infused with outside money to be able to tread water, and that's true in the Bahamas, the United States, Africa, Haiti, and anywhere in the world where there is a large concentration of blacks.
