If Biden won't sit down with a reporter as confrontational with him as Wallace was with Trump, he should be asked to resign from the race and let someone who doesn't expect to be elected by default take his place. That will never happen because Democrats will never demand it of him. But if party didn't matter more than country, they would.

That will never happen because Democrats will never demand it of him. But if party didn't matter more than country, they would. I'm still waiting to see how he will get out of debating. Will it be the virus? Will he agree only if he's at a remote location so we can't see who is there and off camera feeding him answers? If Archie is right about the VP slot, he won't have to. He'll just let Michelle and Barack do the talking. Remember when Trump said the press was the enemy of the people? I criticized him for that. It was a horrifying thing to hear the POTUS say. And the Left went nuts as well. Here's the difficult truth about that. If you thought Trump calling the press the enemy of the people was horrible because the press has a vital role to play in our democracy, but you also stand silently by as Biden avoids the press or, even worse, encourage him to do so, you're a hypocrite and a liar. You disdain the role the press plays in our democracy as much or more than Trump does, you just don't have the guts to say it.

Most of the press, as it is now, is the enemy of the general public. They have forgotten about the who, what, where, how and to what extent part of journalistic behavior. They all seem like frustrated commentators giving us their opinion instead of the actual news of the day. Our educational system has been such that they have trained our young to accept commentary as news, forgetting about actual fact.
On edit: Whoops, I forgot to list the "when" of good journalism.

Nope. A free press is the enemy of tyrants. Still have your uniform?
