Interesting movie.
None of the leading characters were typecast: EGR normally was cast as a crook, but in this he was cast as an upright insurance investigator. Fred MacMurray? I only remember him from "My Three Sons" where he was the wise father, not a chiseling petty crook hoodwinked by a duplicitous broad. And Barabara Stanwyck? More appropriately cast as a no-nonsense prairie mom than as a scheming femme fatale.
