In your mind, what's the number 1 issue of the election? , the number one issue is what it has been since I started voting: foreign policy, because that is my particular area of interest (whereas for other people it may the economy, social issues, etc). This is an issue which touches a lot of things about policy in general (e.g., look at the defense budget and how it impacts the deficit). Fair enough. In past elections I could see that being a pivotal issue, maybe more so today as we don't have a coherent foreign policy. I'm not the hugest Biden fan in his current incarnation, but my number 1 is justsayno trump and I'd support any reasonable dem or Republican candidate that would rid this country of the blight of the day glo Stay Puft Marshmallow man. |

Regarding the first, Biden has been waiting for this moment for a long time. Yeah, but Biden isn't running this campaign. He's barely even the face of it. Yeah, like I said he's not the most accurate of pundits. But at the same time ... as coronavirus goes, so goes Trump. If the numbers start to clear up by Sept/Oct the way a whole lot of experts are predicting ... Trump is still in this. If they don't ... Trump is already toast. And in that eventuality there's a very real chance what FC predicted awhile ago could come to pass. And given how the Democrats have weaponized the legal system in recent years, Trump getting immunity for himself and his family from the inevitable punitive lawsuits that try to destroy him and and everything he's built and therefore his childrens' future, I think there's a very real chance Republicans negotiate a deal with him to get him to bow out to save downticket Republicans. Yeah, but Biden isn't running this campaign. He's barely even the face of it. Granted, I'm not paying a ton of attention to the Presidential race right now (I'd rather have a lobotomy), but he does seem to be the face. Not sure who else is. There was a time, but he seems a tad off his rocker now a days. |

Talk seems to be that he doesn't want someone like Warren, Klobuchar, etc. who would probably (nah, definitely would) outshine him on ticket/stump. That's why Rice is leading the pack (at least that's one theory). |

I don't think it depends who it is at all. Whoever he picks will be the talk of the campaign. It's going to be a woman so ... I don't know if you know this or not ... but if Biden wins it will be our FIRST woman vice president. Much will be made of making sure the American people know that. And can you imagine if it's Rice or Harris (I don't think it's going to be Harris.) It won't just be the first woman VP if they win, it'll be the first minority woman VP candidate to even be nominated by a major party! While people are protesting in the streets for equal treatment for black people!! My heart just fluttered. Oh my gosh I'm so excited just thinking about it, I can barely contain myself. Bombs dropped by someone with a vagina will be so much gentler and kinder than bombs dropped by a man. They'll probably be pink /giggle. No, we better rethink that. Then they'll look like penises. And we can't have symbols of the male patriarchy being sent to countries full of poor, brown people.
Everyone already who Joe is. We already know Joe is old and skipping a step. We also know he's pledged to only serve one term. Who is VP is more important than who he is.
