First ran into him when he was like maybe 12 or 13 at Skipper's Smokehouse. www.skipperssmokehouse.com/ Skipper's was one of the great places on Earth back then. Then a couple years later one afternoon jamming with some guys from the Bird Dogs at a place in New Port Richey. He sat at a table on the floor, pulled out a guitar and played without an amp. Not even sure he was playing along. His band had a beer and they left as quickly as they had come in. He was a prodigy, but even that doesn't explain the level of greatness which he has attained. He transcends. EDIT: And Susan Tedeschi is fvcking hot.

I confess I've never been a rabid Stones fan. I mean, they are OK, and generally crowd pleasing at parties and such, but musically they are rather pedestrian in my own warped point of view. I found the Beatles to be much more interesting, if far more erratic. YMMV Listen to the Beatles all you want. They never bring you to this music. The Stones did. |
