I have at least six calendars on the walls of this place. Usually I hit a favorite bookstore every New Years' day to pick up bargain calendars. Been doing that for a few decades now, so I have quite a collection. With the aid of a table of calendars, I can recycle calendars from previous years.
A lot of these have pleasing artwork so it's nice to be able to see them again instead of just tossing them in the waste bin.
Right now I'm enjoying some calendars - never opened some of them - from 2010 and 1999.
On one I have some fun notes left by guests I invited over for a housewarming in 99. I think! LOL.

Or you could wait till 2048, 2076, or 2116 to reuse your 2020 calendar.

Sounds like a plan.
Not.

With computers and all, who needs calendars anymore?

With computers and all, who needs calendars anymore? We have a couple of nails in walls that would look positively naked without one.

So when the power goes out and batteries run out, will you know what day it is?

And if you go blind your calendars will be useless.

Well, there is that, but I imagine there are Braille calendars.
And Braille devices that can retrofit older non-Braille calendars with Braille bumps.
But I still don't understand how loss of electrical power means moving day.

Neither do I.

Btw, I think I have a perpetual calendar in my attic. It works for all years before 2100 (because 2100 is an exceptional year in the Gregorian calendar), so I can always use it if the power went off... Although we haven't had a power outage for more than an hour or two for more than a decade, so I doubt I'll ever have a use for it.

Neither do I. Then you should both be grateful that you have never faced that sort of eviction.

Have you?
I think shutting off someone's power and light for failure to pay rent or mortgage is illegal in California.
You need to move.

Wait about 2-1/2 weeks; everything will suddenly get much better.

Well, my house is paid in full, no mortgages, no loans... Whatever happens, they can't evict me.

There are still property taxes, tho.

Not to mention gas, water, and electricity bills.
The garbage bill, for some reason, is collected annually along with the property taxes.
Actually both are payable twice a year.
