I would also love to see the “ Strict Constitutionalist” arguments from the two dissenters to justify Executive Privilege applying to immunity from releasing records to state prosecutors for a legitimate legal matter. The presidency is apparently a reprieve from any legal repercussions while in office? The Constitution certainly gives no such authority explicitly to the POTUS. However, speaking as a SC myself, I do admit that there are some powers which are implied and which the Founders intended to be implied. But I’d be hard-pressed off the top of my head to justify presidential prosecutorial immunity as one of them. Especially at the non-federal level. Clinton tried the same with dealing with civil matters and also got slapped down. I wonder where Thomas and Alito (The T&A I would rather never wanna see) fell on Clinton paying fines and losing his law license while president from civil matters. Oh wait, Thomas ruled in favor of essentially that at the federal level in Clinton v. Jones.

Almost makes one wonder if all the semi-quadrennial rage and angst we go through over SCOTUS appointments is all just something mostly manufactured and stoked by elected officials to keep us in line on Election Day. Nah... Oh, don’t twist it, there are certainly major repercussions for SCOTUS appointments. But like with anyone associated with Trump, he considers “his guys” to constantly support and protect him at every turn. In this case, he lacks the ability directly or indirectly to just get rid of them and replace them with a new crony.
Indeed, as the appointment of Clarence Thomas will continue to afflict SCOTUS decisions for years to come.

I'm saying their importance is exaggerated and this exaggeration is done for political gain. I think history has shown that such repercussions, while significant, are still overblown, especially when it comes to which president appoints whom. Everyone acts as if every right we have hangs in the balance of SCOTUS appointments. The truth is, most of what they decide is boring and extremely specific. On the bigger issues, they tend to move slowly, if at all. Yet you'd think we are perpetually one justice away from either anarchy or totalitarianism, depending on one's view. The history of the court over the last 40 years bears little resemblance to the dire predictions of doom and destruction that come up at every presidential election and every nomination. But those predictions do happen to turn out the voters, don't they?

Decided today.
He's a liar and a criminal to me, so I could care less, but it would be nice to see the law enforced on him for once.

Who cares what Trump paid in taxes? He broke no tax laws or it would have been known all over the world. And I heard Biden and his speech tonight. He is promising doing every good thing that Trump has already done. He has been in office for 40 years, why didn’t he help get it done a long time ago? It only took Trump about two years. And he is going to tax the rich and corporations. Wow, how dumb is he? If they didn’t pay what they pay in taxes, a much higher rate than most of the population, and if those evil people didn’t and you all had to pay your fair share, every one of us, 330 million people, each of you would have to pay about $11,000.00 dollars, every man woman and child, pay up. Biden and his Marxist plan is crazy. How much different is he than Sanders?
